Local Assessments
The Arthur R. Gould School adopts Chap. 127, Section 4, of the Department of Education's regulations governing instructional programs, assessment and diploma requirements, which states that the purpose of assessment is to provide high quality information about student performance that will allow for:
- Informing teaching and learning
- Monitoring and holding school administrative units accountable for students achieving the content standards set by the Maine Learning Results
- Certifying students' achievement in the content standards

The Gould Action Team meets regularly to coordinate and oversee the Local Assessment process. The school is using the Web2School program to collect, analyze, and report data relative to student assessment.
